Every year, more officers die from suicide than are killed in the line of duty. As you will agree, this statistic is unfortunate and alarming.
To help alleviate this crisis, a Police Suicide Awareness and Prevention Seminar will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the Training Center Building (formerly known as the Hamburger University Building) at the Hyatt Lodge in Oak Brook, IL.
This daylong seminar, including lunch, is offered at no cost to participants or their agencies. Regardless of the unpredictable Chicago weather, we will commence sharply at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 4:00 p.m. (Check-In begins at 7:30 a.m.) Free parking is available.
The seminar is sponsored by the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation and generously underwritten by the Motorola Solutions Foundation. Co-hosts are the Hyatt Lodge and the Oak Brook Police Department.
Police chiefs, supervisors and peer support members are invited and encouraged to attend.
Speakers include:
- Dr. John Dyben, Chief Clinical Officer, Origins Behavioral Healthcare
- Carrie Steiner, Psy.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist
